In 2020, Strong Foundation began. It started with multiple people having ideas of how the now Strong Tower Community Center could be utilized to bring resources to a central location in the Washington Park Community of Montgomery, Alabama. They had a desire to provide a community safe haven, one that offered after school care, sports and beneficial foundational resources such as homeownership information among many other things.
It is our mission to grant non-medical moments to children ages 4-18 with chronic life-threatening illnesses in the state of Alabama as well as continue a relationship Beyond the Moment. Magic Moments was founded in 1984 with the sole purpose of providing happiness to children throughout the state of Alabama who are diagnosed with chronic life-threatening illnesses. As Birmingham mother Shelley Clark was spending time in and out of Children’s Hospital (now Children’s of Alabama), she saw a television program about a chronically ill boy who wanted to ride on a fire truck. The story of his community’s endeavor to fulfill his request, right down to the firemen entering his hospital room window via a hook and ladder truck, inspired her to offer hope and joy to local children with life-threatening illnesses by turning their dreams into realities. We pride ourselves in being the only wish-granting organization dedicated solely to the children of Alabama.

Over 6 million Americans are living with Alzheimer’s in the U.S., and by 2050 that number is projected to be more than doubled. New systems need to be implemented to provide a better quality of life while living with dementia, and they need to be developed right now!
Until the formation of the Respite for All Foundation, few national organizations out there could serve the social and spiritual needs of both the care partner and the person diagnosed with the disease—especially not one that churches or community organizations could easily replicate.
The Respite for All Foundation is a nonprofit with a mission to inspire, grow, and mentor new programs all over the country. We don’t care if you’re in a tiny town or if you’re in a big city. There is a need for one of these Respite communities on every corner.
God placed a dream in the hearts of Pete and Angie Spackman. Overwhelmed by the need to help inmates’ children, a dream began to take shape. They knew that without intervention, many of these children would become inmates themselves. They knew that to raise them in the Gospel was the only answer. Stepping out in faith and without any government funding, they began this ministry right in their own home. With the help of their four daughters, they reached out to children living in the most appalling conditions. Soon their home was bursting at the seams. Knowing that there was nowhere else for these children to go, they pressed on. Since that time, with much patience, hard work, and with the help of God’s people, the Spackmans began to build a beautiful facility on 18 acres of donated land. The Nursery boasts twelve beautifully decorated children’s bedrooms. Adullam House meets all the educationl needs of its children at Adullam House Christian Academy. God has provided every step of the way. This Dream, through many Miracles, has become a Reality, and we operate debt-free.
Hope Inspired Ministries (HIM) was established in January, 2012, in Montgomery, Alabama. Our vision is to serve chronically unemployed men and women by preparing and equipping them to obtain, maintain, and excel at employment.
Instead of bringing a traditional band aid approach by helping people survive in poverty, HIM’s approach is radically different. HIM trains people, through a system of structure and accountability combined with empathy and compassion, how to escape the hopelessness and despair found in a lifetime of poverty.
HIM has grown every year in its existence. It has proven that even the most marginalized men and women of our community can become self-supporting, productive citizens.
